Gabriela Castañeda

Gabriela Castañeda is a Mexican visual artist and photographer based in Hidalgo. Her work explores themes of femininity, solitude, and melancholy, drawing inspiration from mythology, poetry, and history to create compelling visual narratives. Skilled in both analog and digital media, Gabriela's work also spans audiovisual projects.
Her photography has been featured in the collective exhibition "Musea" (2024), organized by the Querétaro State Secretariat of Culture and the Querétaro Center for Photography.
Gabriela is a lecturer at the Autonomous University of Hidalgo, where she teaches analog photography, art history, and theory. She also teaches digital photography at Love Lab Music, a cultural school in Pachuca. Beyond teaching, Gabriela is the community manager at Fish Eye, a platform dedicated to promoting photographers worldwide. Additionally, she co-hosts “Hablando en Plata”, a podcast highlighting the work of women photographers, such as Lourdes Almeida and Vida Yovanovich.
